migrating from yuzu to eden

Quick answer

Move keys, firmware, saves and shader caches from Yuzu to Eden without re-dumping. Point Eden at the same folders, then verify each one loads.

Yuzu’s development ended in March 2024, but your installed copy keeps running — keys and firmware live on your machine, not on the project’s servers. Eden is the most-used continuation, and the migration is a folder copy, not a re-dump. Do these in order and nothing gets left behind.

What carries over

  1. Keys and firmware — copy as-is
Copy the contents of Yuzu's keys/ folder into Eden's user/keys/. The same prod.keys works in both — they read the same file format.
Eden starts without a keys error. If it does error, the file probably didn't copy fully — check the size, then see the keys fix.
  2. Firmware — install through Eden's dialog
Don't copy firmware files into random folders. Use Tools → Install Firmware in Eden and point it at the firmware you already dumped for Yuzu.
Eden's firmware dialog lists your installed version rather than "not found".

Saves and caches

  1. Copy your saves
Yuzu stores per-title saves under its nand/ folder. Copy the folder for each game into the matching location in Eden's user/nand/. Keep the same title ID folder names.
Launch a game you played on Yuzu — your save file is listed on the title screen.
  2. Skip the shader cache — rebuild it
Shader caches are GPU- and driver-specific. Copying Yuzu's cache to Eden can cause stutter or visual glitches. Delete any copied cache and let Eden rebuild it on first launch.
First launch of each game is slow (compiling), then smooth — that's the cache rebuilding correctly.

Cleanup and verification

  1. Add your games directory in Eden
Eden starts with an empty library — point it at the same games folder Yuzu used.
Your full library appears in the grid.
  2. Play one game end-to-end before deleting Yuzu
Run a game you have a save in, for ten minutes. Confirm saves write, audio works, and the controller responds.
Only then remove the Yuzu folder. Keep it until this passes — it's your rollback.

Migration leftovers that are not keys errors

If a game errors on keys after migration, re-check the file copy first — prod keys not found covers the checks. For firmware version complaints, see firmware version mismatch. New to Eden entirely? Start with the Eden setup guide.
